I think its a "im young and a brat and attatched" to a "ok annoying but wtv ill teach you to get over ur stutter and maybe u should escape cos theyre trying to sacrifice and torture you" into a "ill do it for you *sacrifices himself*"
do we know if they were dating in the past or was lee muhan just yearning for jaeheon and gave up his life for him? JH might hate to see his face if he was an annoying love sick brat in the past who JH mentored or sumn who suddenly disappeared one day claiming to sacrifice himself to prove his love, only to be tortured for years blaming jaeheon for the situation he’s in despite Jh maybe asking him/advising him not to? that would enrage me if one of my students did anything of the sort too.
