Girl, you are such damn liar. Giving the BS excuse, that you couldn't find it, when it's on ridibooks for you to purchase, just like the original translator did. Also the chapter does belong to them, since they purchased it with own money. Just admit, you stole it and didn't want to pay for it, instead of making excuses.
Right…. Because buying something gives them the right to retranslate it and post it on an illegal site. Not everyone knows about ridibooks, I didn’t. And since you all keep saying she stole it, I feel like she actually should take off all the credits at this point, at least then she’d actually be guilty of what you keep saying she is. Weirdo.
Anyone with two working brain cells and a simple Google search, would be able to find the original source of the manhwa. Why you getting defensive, maybe get your head out her ass.
They bought the chapter and translated for you ungrateful twats for free, so you could read on this illegal site. Next time I hope they don't bother.
The only one getting defensive here is you. I looked up ridibooks and not only is the website in Korean, they want age verification, picture of your id or passport, and more. And when I searched “mind the gap” raws or whatever, ridibooks did not show up. So if she didn’t know about ridibooks, how could a “simple google search” show her something it’s not even showing me? Like someone said, this is such a non-issue. I feel ridiculous even replying to you so I won’t again.
My head “isn’t up her ass” because I don’t think it’s right for you all to just send her angry DMs and write all of this stupid comments when she clearly didn’t do this in bad faith, and her changes are actually good. Like I said, you’re a weirdo.
Calling me weirdo, cause I don't think it's right for her to take another users translated chapter, without even asking for permission, to change a couple of sentences.
Girl, please...
The reason you couldn't find it, is cause you need to sign-up, which I'm guessing you didn't bother to do and there's a thing called Google translate, but I'm guessing that was too much for you little head. Also not once, did I send her a angry DM. I'm that low.
Obviously I didn’t bother to do it, because I’m not interested in translating or looking at the raws. I don’t care enough to get in the site, and don’t want to trouble my “little head” about it lmao. And you’re a weirdo because you read her response and started off hot with “you are such a damn liar”, when it’s clear she wasn’t looking for a confrontation and is trying to de-escalate. I don’t see how you can distinguish your comment from an angry Dm. Is it because you didn’t send it to her privately? She literally said she made this comment because she was getting a lot of them DMs. I doubt your comment read differently.
Anyway, I looked at her account, she doesn’t translate and so I’m sure my point stands.
What happened to feeling ridiculous and not replying again, but here you are. Of course you wouldn't care, since you're reading it for free on an illegal site, cause someone decided to purchase and translate it for your ungrateful ass. What does that person get, another user stealing their chapter and adding a couple of sentences without even asking for permission. Keep calling me a weirdo, still doesn't justify that she couldn't even be bothered to ask for permission, like any normal decent person.

I think some people are dramatically overstating what happened here.
I did not retranslate the chapter. I changed three lines that I felt were inconsistent with the characters and the tone of the story. The original credit pages remained intact. The original translator’s information remained intact. Their acknowledgements remained intact. I did not remove their name, replace their work with mine, or link anything that benefited me.
As for the accusation that I “stole” a chapter: please be serious. The chapter does not belong to me, but it does not belong to you either. If we’re going to have a conversation about permission, then let’s be consistent about where these translations come from in the first place.
More importantly, my issue was never that the scene was sexual. My issue was characterization.
Nathan does not speak like this in the novel. He does not suddenly start talking in internet slang. He does not spend the entire story speaking one way and then randomly start saying things like “taking dih” because the scene became explicit.
Translation is not just about converting words. It is also about preserving character voice.
The reason I edited those lines is because they pulled me out of the story and made me feel like I was hearing the translator instead of the character. Judging by the comments, I was far from the only person who noticed.
For reference, the lines I changed were:
• “My ass is throbbing.” → “My body is aching.”
• “I’m not going to judge you for knotting while taking dih.” → “I’m not going to judge you for knotting while having sex.”
• “I can’t believe I knotted while getting fucked.” → “I can’t believe I knotted while being held.”
You do not have to agree with my choices. That’s completely fine. But presenting three edited lines as though I reposted an entire chapter and claimed it as my own is ridiculous.
I also explicitly stated that I could not find the raws or a place to purchase the chapter despite looking. If anyone actually has a legitimate purchase link, feel free to send it instead of sending angry DMs.
At the end of the day, this was an alternate version of three lines. The original chapter, original credits, and original translation are all still there for people to read and judge for themselves.
