While I can understand this thinking, I neither agree nor disagree, but I do think it plays a role of some sort.
Xinlu has been described to be alluring/captivating atleast that is what I've taken from it. This word on its own is not of sexual nature, but can easily step into that territory. I assume this is how 90% of the people approaching xinlu have felt, sexual allure. This would explain his some sort of discomfort when it comes to other people's lust.
I believe Yuri felt allure/captivation (NOT SEXUAL ALLURE) to Xinlu when he was younger, just like Xinlu's parent feel towards him and his siblings. I think this allure has slowly shifted as they spend more time together as adults.
To call this pedophilia or grooming would be a very far jump, immoral? Maybe, questionable? Sure. Yuri did not have much contact with Xinlu as a child, and only vaguely met on the off chance. I do get the constant flashbacks to Xinlu as a child is a little strange, but not alarming. Whereas Ilay is a rapist, no doubt, an undeniable truth.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Yuri did not groomed him. He did not approach xinlu when he was a child and even when he was an adult. He did not have any sexual thoughts about Xinlu as a child. They are not blood related. He did not coerced Xinlu. If finding someone beautiful is weird, i think it's high time we start cleaning the trash in our minds. There are innocent people in this world where they can find someone alluring, pretty, beautiful without attaching any impure meaning to it. Like how we normally can find our friend attractive, we can find our family members beautiful..it is as simple as admiring a beautiful sky, flower, a human.
