I agree. I will add though that some miscommunication arcs are badly done. Overall I don't mind them, and I like seeing the internal struggle of a character about "why" they feel they can't open up to their significant other. But I feel like if that isn't there, or if those reasons are fairly shallow in their presentation then that's why the arc isn't satisfying.
I find that frustrating no matter what the trope. I get not liking something and deciding to put it down because of that, but labeling all things the same over a trope without even giving it a chance? To me it's more about the execution. Especially if it's not even something triggering. I get it if somebody puts a story down over depictions of violence, or it's hitting too close to home because of a trauma. But things like a chasing arc or miscommunication I categorize as fairly benign.

so Im re-reading my fave angst manhwa, and suddenly sees the reply about the misunderstanding between ml and mc.
This just my opinion, readers who "always" hate misunderstanding probably misunderstood what It might interpret.
"SOME" reader always see "simple conversation" as an easy fix, but in reality people or let say some fictional character to are may be overhelmed that "simple conversation" may be emotionally impossible.
Misunderstanding isn't just a plot device; it is a reflection of the characters' internal struggles.
Characters that may often misunderstand may be a reflection of their insecurities or past trauma.
Let just say you are a reader with an "GOD EYES VIEW" that can sees everything, but a character can only sees their "own fear".
BTW I believe everyone has a right to their opinion, but that doesn't mean every opinion is beyond criticism.
So yall can deject my opinions and say anything about it since all of us have diff perspective and ideology.
Thats all i gues.(● ̄(エ) ̄●)
