The reason *could* be that he has severe PTSD which his nightmares seem to hint at. And maybe the nightmares are an event we don't know yet. But for Guwon he doesn't need a reason as he's proved with others, he kills anyone he deems as not useful including the doctors wife and kids. I don't think he did it though because that wouldn't be much of a twist and the author seems better than that lol

Seeing guwon and what he said to teach about the "dog thing" it wouldn't seem surprising to me if guwon was the one who actually killed his father.. he said that teach seemed to him like the others at first but then different...
