what country if you don't mind sharing?
im from india. it mostly happened to boys but all girls had to wear their hair in two braids no matter the length and if they didn’t, the consequences was chopped hair.

the hair cutting of the aunt’s legit reminded me of my school days and how unnecessarily strict they were. I kept my hair short throughout my youth purposefully because they would pull this trick if the students didn’t meet their criteria.
