idk but most Asian countries don't normalize abortion, even though some of them have already legalized it. maybe it's also because of the social environment around them, which is generally very anti-abortion. they care more about an unborn fetus than the mother. it's different from america. and when it comes to movies or manhwas.. it's for the plot lmao
yeah, the pregnancy stuff is for fetish and to propel the plot, but it doesn't detract from the rape-y, natalist subtext of omegaverse and how very few of them push back against it beyond "look how good this particular alpha is". in fact, are there any manhwa that do?
anyways, here's to hoping more people wake up to the potential of abortions in omegaverse! (and just being more creative with it overall)
some food for thought, if you're so inclined:

I think it’s mostly because authors uses emotional value to glue the readers to the story. For instance, 98% of yaoi is mostly rape n SA so how does they tone it down? Yes! A baby! So by their logic : baby = wholesome and cute stuff to randomly add if the story got too intense and the readers are hating on the seme/characters.
Also maybeee it’s because of the Asian culture where we are mostly pro life. Annnnd because this doesn’t happen to the author ofc, their free will i guess to make the characters they create to keep the baby. It’s a bad massage but if in the story the character conceived the baby through SA , rape or ambiguous consent, it’s safe to say the author just doesn’t care. They want their story to sell and create buzz.
Just my 2cents ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Lol, after so many years of reading omegaverse, I'm only now noticing the pro-natalism of this setting. Tell me why no omega ever gets an abortion, regardless of how poor they are, whether they can actually take care of the kid or not, or some other reasons? Honestly, I don't think relating that to South Korea's (and Japan's) alarming decline in birth rate is a reach. This is entering into the kdrama space too
