I don't think you get why im calling it misogyny. Calling Ianna a "shitty" person without taking into account of what the men did (which was deceit and being selfish), is further proving my point of why the women are commonly being painted the "villain" regardless of what the men did. (Which is an issue in the patriarchy-dominated system we live in today).
Sure, you could argue that Ianna was a bad mother for abandoning her child, but she had her own reasons (which was wanting to go back to her mother).
I am not saying that Ianna didn't do anything wrong, I was just addressing why are SOME of you only attacking Ianna for her faults without blaming the men for making Ianna do what she did.
There is no 100% right choice in this one bc Asians also put a lot of value in motherhood (let alone, traditionally, when it cane to bearing and raising *male* children, uuigh) etc etc. I'd take the baby being a "demon" and/or him having someone else to take care of him as a better reason than her being forced into it, because it's clear that is not her absolute mindset anymore (and after years of living there and adjusting well to an uncomfortable, but not exactly *hellish* situation, who can blame her for getting her true wishes all confused... I'm tallking about it not being "hellish" because meanwhile she was forced to live as a privileged noble lord's "flower base" wife... not as a poor farmer's less fortunate wife)

Hating on Ianna/not understanding her side screams misogyny tbh. Why aren't we hating on Roth's father for tricking her??
Plus if you knew how respecting your elders/parents is an ubiquitous part of East Asian culture, you would understand why Ianna wanted to go back to her world even if her mother didn't care about her.
