Feels more like he venerates her rather than love honestly. Likes she’s the one person who truly cared about him as a person and he held on to that so he loves her so much, he thinks he’s actually IN love with her.

I think for now he just needs to learn to trust someone else for himself rather than his childhood friend. In this recent chapter, he let his guard down because he was emotionally overloaded. Basically that needs to happen naturally and not because of unstable feelings. I think that would lead him to truly appreciate the MC and develop feelings further down the line as their relationship progresses. Going through hardships together might draw them closer as well. Not sure what kind of hardship though.
i mean if i'm honest ML is bothered by how easily MC can get under his skin aka which I think he was actually flustered (your typical tsundere ig? but not so generic). Since ML life is quite fucked up (referring to family dynamics) I dont think he would be able to distinguish platonic and romantic love that easily..
but I doo think Gaon is basically a sister to him just that he doesnt know it yet since they never actually dated..
