“You never looked for me either”, oh this hag.
I agree with everything you said!!
About Byul, 100%. What he experienced versus Hyesung is absolutely little ro nothing. That wasn’t even abandonment. Hyesung didn’t owe anyone anything at that time, he was raped, gaslit, and trapped. He didn’t even want Byul if I remember right, and that’s okay.
You’re right. He never wanted to have Byul in the first place. Dojin basically manipulated him with money and by saying things like, “I’m the father too,” or something along those lines.
And the thing with Byul is what really annoys me. How can you feel abandoned when Hye left when you were a newborn and came back when you were, like, 2 or 3 months old? You don’t even remember any of it. And ever since he’s been back, he’s given Byul all the love and affection in the world.
Honestly, “betrayal” doesn’t even begin to cover the fact that he still keeps in contact with his grandmother after everything.
As for Dojin, I don’t have much to say. He’s always been an incredibly stupid character, so at this point nothing he does surprises me anymore.

You might relate to this situation, but honestly, I find it impossible to defend the mother. I feel absolutely no sympathy for her.
Yes, she was a victim of abuse and violence at the hands of her husband, so we can all understand why leaving and starting over was the best option for her. But leaving her young son behind with his abuser should never have been an option.
What makes it even worse is the way she explains it: “I met someone and I didn’t want to tell them I had a son,” “He told me you didn’t want to see me,” “You never looked for me either.” Those are terrible excuses. She comes across as an awful mother.
On top of that, all she’s been doing is taking advantage of Dojin’s money. Literally, thanks to the son she abandoned, she isn’t living on the streets. The audacity is unbelievable.
Dojin was stupid, sure, but I can also understand why he helped her. At the end of the day, he knows Hye still hasn’t completely let go of his mother.
But Byul… my God. This kid is incredibly inconsiderate. There’s no comparison between the “abandonment” he experienced and everything Hye has had to endure.
I’m glad Hyesung decided not to see her again, and I honestly hope it stays that way. She doesn’t deserve Hyesung’s love or affection.
