Doesn’t hit the same as BJ Alex

I had to come back and check out Jinx after hearing it had technically finished, and ngl (as someone who quit halfway through because of how awful Dan was being treated,) the ending really feels lackluster. It feels like the author had to forcefully condense a lot of potential reconciliation chapters into the confession Jaekyoung makes in the second to last chapter. There was almost no proper reflection or realistic communication between the two love interests, and it just portrays all of the assault and harassment (I said what I said, a lot of it is very uncomfortable and should be) as “bumps” in their relationship. There weren’t many actual moments where Jaekyoung worked hard to rebuild the relationship (the whole saga with him treating Dan with the minimum respect is not it, let’s be completely honest). Either way, kind of a bummer for me because I was hoping that in the end, Dan would be much more confident in himself and Jaekyoung would better himself to earn back Dan’s trust slowly. Still, it is what it is and I’d like to send all the love and support to the author for finally finishing Jinx (at least the main storyline anyways)

Fr it felt forced, insincere, disingenuous, phony, such and such, their relationship was just so flat when they liked each other. Dan especially was so bland. I felt like he was just….there. I couldn’t stomach Joo Jaekyung either, i felt like they had more nuance when they we at odds but in the end I’m able to swallow this artificial like relationship because a bad ending would make me dislike the story even more
