SPOILERSS
It's definitely not just about that. Desire involves: 1) showing how misguided the other characters' point of view about him is. Grayson isn't evil, he's just a person who gives that impression because he has real mental problems and doesn't realize that the things he does result in suffering for others. Throughout the story, you'll realize that Grayson suffers from alexithymia (that is, he can't understand emotions) and that's why he wants to find his partner, to feel something. 2) Dane is someone who will begin to heal Grayson; it's with him that he finally learns to understand some emotions. Everyone in Grayson's life has a strange relationship with him: he's desired only for his looks, money, social standing, or simply because, in order to find his destined partner, he tries to do everything his partners want in his relationships, but nobody sees him as he really is. His friends are fake with him or pity him. His relatives generally either detest him, see him as a threat to society, or are completely incapable, so what they do is "train" him and watch him closely. The only one who doesn't fear him, doesn't approach him for ulterior motives, and truly tries to help him is Dane. 3) Desire is a story of mutual healing. Just as Dane heals Grayson, Grayson also heals Dane. They are both survivors. 4) In this healing process, Grayson finally manages to unlock empathy, an emotion he takes a long time to understand. From then on, he apologizes to everyone he has hurt, including Chase.
Dane has a trauma that prevents him from believing in love (it's a heavy story). Because of this, he is very, very closed off to it. Furthermore, since he is a dominant omega and omegas are hunted in this universe, he has even more of a detachment from everyone and can only connect deeply with animals, children, and people in profound suffering.
i actually feel sorry and sad for grayson because he wants attention from dane but dane just shrugged him off i know both of them have issues especially dane but it took a lot of thinking, efforts, understanding if i called it for grayson to finally realized that dane would never loved him as much as he loves dane but in the end I'm still happy that dane realize what he wants in the end(/TДT)/
You know, by the end of the novel I already think Dane loves him as much as Grayson loves him?? SPOILERS.....I think that after the breakup and the deep depression Dane went through, it showed that he really loved Grayson. Another moment that also gives me this certainty is when, before he is saved, at the end, he reflects that he should have told Grayson that he loved him before he died...for me, it was clear there that Grayson's feelings were reciprocated.

Whoever reads the novel is Greyson story just about him trying to find the one who knocked him out? Or will there be more to it?
