Honestly? I love how in novel in future chapters his feelings are described. The part when he is talking how he is sad because he no longer can feel the butterflies in his stomach, but can't hate him either. This and his depression shows very realistic how betrayal make you feel about the person that was so close to you. From the reader point of view, it would be easy to feel that since ml did loved him and called off the bet, after all of their fights every things would finally come together again and his love would be the same (because that how often authors write their characters) but here we have description of very painful love. Because mc never stopped loving ml, it's just that now that love doesn't make him feel good anymore, he had that good feeling inside of him, that is gone. Even when some parts of him react with warm towards ml, the little butterflies were smashed and trampled for an entertainment and it can't be reversed.

It hit me hard, because even if not in romantic way, I did had the same experience when the love in my head stayed, but my heart feel just empty and it's devastating, because even when I forgave that person, that warm feeling was gone.
