I was thinking that hyesung was just gunna forgive his mum since every other character had no complex feelings towards her really. I do like that it’s a little more complicated than that tho, I like that essentially they explored the part that yh time helps and sometimes kids will forgive their parents even if they don’t deserve that forgiveness because they love that person so much but because he loves her he's constantly reminded that she didn’t love him that she was able to abandon him for so many years and it hurts him to see her. It's complicated.
I haven’t read the prequel in years so I don’t remember much, I dunno whether I would have been ok with her being forgiven or not but also it doesn’t really matter. More than whether she's forgivable or not to me, I want hyesung's decision and process to be written well, I wanna know his feelings and thought process and to understand his decision. What I mean is I want that decision to really feel like hyesung's decision rather than the author trying to push a plot point.
