i think he is. maybe i misunderstood, but this is kind of an alternate universe???
it's not an AU. he really should've gotten destroyed since he went rogue and killed people. but the CEO kept him and gave him a working position. He's no longer human. I think the personality change simply just came from personal reflection. In the last few chapters he was even helping with the whole reunification project.
