Taking into consideration that both dominant alphas and recesive omegas are rare within the omegaverse, it would not be rare to have little research done around them, more so if they present this so called "Pheromone Rejection Syndrome".
You have to remember most omegaverse worlds state that the proportion of the alpha/beta/and omega people in the world is around 15-20%, 80-70% and 5-10%.
Since omegas are a very small percentage in comparison to even alphas, they're very much stigmatized and even secluded. So little research about them could be caused by rejection and being seen as "inferior" (which most omegaverse stories do focus on: the injustice of the treatment omega receive).
For a very specific research about a very rare condition (say 1 in 15,000 people) it would require a lot of money into research and therefore a lot of time researching how the syndrome functions or what is lacking and then start to develop different therapies to reduce the backlash of the condition and even cure it.
I do wish the author would dwell more around the world building since I do find the premise of an offspring needing the parents' pheromones to have a correct development quite interesting.
This. Even IRL about 50% of the world is women and still illnesses that are more common in women are way less researched, known or cared about, even if those things aren't rare. Never mind doctors actually even remembering they're dealing female anatomy and often miss things like huge cysts in ovaries etc.
.
Omegas are often at best same level as women in most IRL societies, but barely... Especially male omegas.
.
(Sidenote: I still suspect a lot of the omegaverse is made to be just revenge towards men, make them to be lowest just because biology and abuse them. Way to vent for female writers and audience.)
Yes! I also wanted tk address that issue, comparing how almost 55% of the population still struggle to get a simple diagnosis to their disorders because they have a female reproductive anatomy and everything that is not the "normal" is still catalogued as "oh that happens sometimes". What... brother... no...
Applying that same reasoning to omegaverse would explain why both female and male omegas get little medical help with their issues.
I bet if an alpha had this "Pheromone Rejection Syndrome" they would already know what therapy is needed to help them live normally(/TДT)/
Probably only if it's male alpha and right type of Asian race (if written by Asian author). There still are those same sexist and racist undertones even without omegaverse, even more so if written by women: because omegaverse imitates the IRL society.
And they would make sure there is hardly any side effects, so the alpha male isn't harmed. Not like it could be something like e-pills are for women, men can't have similar side effects, it would be torture. xP
Anyway... Honestly, Pheromone Rejection Syndrome probably would still be too rare disease to solve even if it would affect alphas, but sure there would be put way more money into it if right type of alpha males suffers from it. Because probably some rich alpha would be one suffering from it.

how is it the absorbing pheromones through mucous membranes thing not thoroughly researched? it isn’t like the secondary genders just recently came into existence in this manhwa’s universe? lol sorry i know im nitpicking when i should just turn off my brain when reading manhwas but still.. just got me thinking.. :>
