Like how in the hell were they were going to bring this up in any of their conversation without worrying the other won't feel weird or disgusted. Especially when they're literally both guys.
We always forget that we're in third person's pov here. We know what they're thinking but not them.
I don't think this is a miscommunication trope, like those years they thought the other one hated them. You really just can't say that "Hey, I dreamt of us kissing and doing it and stuff, is that cool?"
