The criminal being pursued by the MC cares more for the MC than anyone in his life. I like the prosecutor's character too, very machiavellian, hope the author goes more deeply into it while keeping the action alive. The MC seems like he is on a kamikaze mission and it's obvious the ML will save him from himself and the system that has made a tool out of the MC, taking advantage of his trauma. But I just don't like when the uke's character is exploited to no ends just to push the story forward. Hope the writer doesn't make it worse going forward. Best resolution would be if MC quit his job and sued the prosecutor.
