I think how I see it is yeomin has absolutely 0 interest in being taken care of by ML. On the other hand ML has by no means made it clear to yeomin that this isn’t more than how he treats a hookup and can leave him anytime. Yeomin is also the top student in their grade even while working all of those part time jobs. But for the black hair I would obviously be pissed too though i dont think he’s looking past anything but his own issues iirc hes been pretty problematic so I think truthfully even if yeomin didnt get the scholarship he’d still be angry. If I was in yeomins situation I would 100% still be keeping a bit of independence financially. I mean imagine if ml just one day decided he was bored and he lost literally all of his support. In our MCs eyes that is entirely possible.

He doenst know where he stands with the ML so he should secure himself as much as possible. Yes, ML is paying for his tuition but in Yeomin's mind, all of this is TEMPORARY because emotionally constipated ass ML told him that he doesn't love him in the beginning. It's like a working student who feels like they still don't earn enough or a student from a lower middle class family where one emergency and poof, everything is gone. That's why they need that scholarship.
Not all people are broke = 0 amount in bank. Some are broke in a one hospital = everything gone way. This discourse on who is deserving of what scholarship more than the other are the capitalists way to divide the working class.
He worked multiple jobs and still kept his grades up without complaining or making his problems (which really shouldn’t have been his to begin with) anyone else’s problems. He deserves whatever good comes his way in abundance. Notice no one else was jealous or looking at him sideways except the guy who already was way too into his business to begin with. That is nothing but jealousy and anger that he can no longer look down on his situation.
There are many scholarships and grants based on need, there is nothing wrong with merit based scholarships.

I think people doing multiple jobs deserve (doesn't mean they should give everyone based on that, but there should be a more thorough procedure) scholarships more than the ones getting superb grades
I mean if they have the liberty to spend more than half of their day on studying alone without worrying about where their next meal is gonna come from, how are they gonna pay this months rent, buy certain books (books are extremely expensive) for course work, should they really be given scholarships???? Afterall scholarships are meant to ease someone from the burden of paying all those fees
