About guwon

Ik im making too many comments back to back but I just wanted to separate the topics and specifically talk about guwon/ML. Though I don’t agree with ppl just swooning over guwon lmao, there’s a reason why I don’t hate him at all. I like reading and thinking about the depth of a character rather than taking everything at face value and simplifying things to “he kills!! He bad forever!!” This is a zombie apocalypse story, I chose it and knew the type of setting I would be getting into. In zombie apocalypse stories killing human beings is COMMON, there’s no surprise and shouldn’t be any when you choose to read a story with this setting. Often times those killings are due to survival, the whole “kill or be killed.”

It obvious the author is hinting that the ML was created and raised to be some sort of survivalist killing machine. The fact that he’s so naive and knowing about anything else like certain words and sex, shows he was only taught one thing and to do one thing. Realistically he is keeping the whole group alive with his rules. With everyone else’s mindset to be goodie two shoes and protect everyone, not killing a single being or punishing someone- that’s a quick way to get yourselves killed. That’s part of the issue with mc, his mindset of no killing humans will one day get himself or everyone else killed. It bothers me because all these ppl begged to come with him and be saved/protected by him, but once they didn’t like his rules, they grew outraged wanting to kill him and everyone else that defends and scouts for supplies/food. They didn’t consider wanting to leave themselves, they just want to be the next ones to take over. It’s like biting the hand that feeds you. These ppl wanting to kill them, don’t know how to properly fight, scout, or defend. They would be attacked by another group as soon as these “dogs” and ML are gone. Anyways I hope mc snaps out of it soon and gets more intelligent. Right now he’s too busy being all gloomy to think of that huge issue of missing protection and not knowing how to fill the jobs once they’re gone.

The big issue is this has reached the wrong audience first. A large amount of readers assumed the ML was a green flag, saying “he looks scary but is surprisingly a puppy!” And then spread that assumption around all over social media, which invited MORE green flag readers to believe that and flock here. Now when more chapters come out ppl are outraged and in shock. Ppl who can’t handle dark themes or black/red flags have come here and expressed their hate. This is exactly how Roses and champagne hate happened (the wrong audience arrived and assumed ML was green flag and set themselves up with disappointment). Now they label this story as toxic and keep that stigma due to their own poor choice in choosing a story.
