Everyone has the right to their opinion. I’ve read some pretty mid bl’s, not written horrible but also not nothing out of the ordinary and compared to those I can’t put jinx in the same lvl of them, jinx is bad story, the only thing that saves is the art style bcs in therms of story, character development, its horrendous and its also not some “dark” bl people like to call it, all just bcs it has , and it does a shit job to talk about , the consequences of it for the victim and the perpetrator. Yes you can say the overall it’s a genetic story, but don’t you think we also call it generic and mid bcs, stories like this have become the norm in these webtoon/mawha in the past few years?
Might not be the worst but I would not call it mid, I would still call it bad.
Coz it's literally brain rot without anything the story is shallow and half baked at best. At least the dark ones have a slight bit of character complex and if done well has a lot of potential. The story may be triggering but at least it well written.
But with jinx it's just not it .it's the biggest nothing burger ever .every trop that mingwa tried to pull off was outright plain and bad. It's just really poorly written
Mind you a story doesn't need to be complex to be good. It can be simple but also amazing. But jinx LITERALLY couldn't even do that.
Majority of the jinx fandom is filled with kids. They don't know better. To them this is good when it's in actuality not. Even from a critical story writing prospective it's just plainly average.
But of course jinx isn't the worst thing the yaoi fandom has seen. Jk ain't the worst character ever either especially if we compare to what some other tops have done
and THAT, is critical construct.
in all honesty, jinx isnt bad at all. i dont understand why people think this is the worst piece of BL media when it really isnt? its not that 'dark' either? if anything the plot is so generic. its not bad, but not the best either, the art is great so thats nice, pacing wise was also pretty good, but then the end did feel a tad bit rushed. i dont like how they said 'they both hurted eachother in the process' because dan didnt hurt anyone?? this manhwa isnt bad but it isnt amazing either, its mediocre. the art is pretty tho and very pleasing to look at.
