The first art style actually understands the soul of the novel. You can immediately feel the angst, tension, and emotional weight just from the expressions, lighting, and overall atmosphere alone. It has identity and feels emotionally alive. Meanwhile, the second art style looks like every other generic manhwa out there, polished maybe, but too safe, monotonous, and lacking any distinctive personality or emotional impact. It doesn’t leave a lasting impression at all.
Honestly, why didn’t they choose an illustrator with a vibe similar to the artists behind Diamond Dust, Steel Under Silk, or Payback? Those art styles have strong identity and know exactly how to build chemistry, atmosphere, and emotional intensity without making everything feel copy-pasted from the usual mainstream manhwa formula.
I agreed with you! If only the artist of the promo art, Totiko, wasn’t already working on her current work “Antidote” :/ but Antidote was drawn really well. Really expressive too. It depicts the symptoms of MC having schizophrenia really well!
