For anyone wondering about the novel plot:
This is a heavy dark romance. MC goes through so much trauma and depression that he literally runs away while pregnant. The ML never really gets a proper redemption, he’s just obsessively keeping MC by his side. It’s not a 'mutual love' type of story, more like a twisted acceptance of fate. Brace yourselves!!
Yep, hit the nail on the head. ML regrets it only in the sense that he hates losing control over MC, not that he suddenly becomes a green flag. MC is completely broken mentally, so staying becomes his path of least resistance. It's definitely not a satisfying redemption arc if you're looking for one
I looked it up. Apparently once he finds woo jin, he is so afraid of losing him that he stops being abusive. He still locks him up in the mansion for a while, but woo jin ignores him emotionally, avoids contact 100% at first and remains him of all he did in the past, which drives ML crazy, this causes him to start being affectionate but woo jin makes it clear he only accepts his attention for the sake of the baby. ML also stops trying to control MC and gives him his space. Later in the extras after some years of raising the baby, ML has changed completely into a loving person that does everything for his son and to please woo jin and be sure he is well physically and mentally, and it's only after seeing the change is real that MC starts to give him a second chance and they start to rebuild their relationship. Is this correct?
Nope, don't fall for that sweet summary! That's a heavily sugarcoated version floating around. The ML never actually gets a proper greenflag redemption arc. He remains manipulative, possessive, and obsessive throughout. WooJin stays not bc he forgives him or sees a "loving change", but purely bc he's emotionally broken, terrified, and exhausted from everything. It’s a very dark, toxic dynamic and more of a forced resignation than a sweet healing romance, so definitely don't expect a wholesome happy ending
Apparently i got some of the info wrong. I read the novel recently in spanish, this was asfter my first comment. The ML does have a change of attitude, even more so in the extras, but the story as a whole feels very empty and not enough of a redemption arc imo, since he never verbally apologizes for the things he did. And it does feel in a way, that MC has no option but to stay with ML, even though it is said in the novel at one point, that ML no longers forces MC to do anything.

Oh noooo.. this going to really good ride
