He can’t bring himself to admit he fell for someone as careless, selfish and mad as Zigril bc Kay thinks he’s better than that. That’s why he’s never been able to say no to a woman either. Because he thinks he’s a gentleman who’s always there to protect the weak. And he sees women as weak, fragile flowers who need love and protection. That’s the image he has of himself. That’s why Zigril will need the mirror. That’s the only way they can give a closure to this story and explain why Kay was never actually capable to stay away from Zigril.
