This is gonna be unpopular but I really cringed at the wish.
IDK I was expecting him to just reveal himself and ask ti be taken seriously as a man and a warrior who don't need no one's protection and imply like that that yeah boss I can take you on you're not as dangerous to me as you think, did you see me absolutely destroy your best warriors with one blow?

instead we get the empress ask his husband please just fuck me, airing out their dirty laundry in public. If I was in the audience at that moment i would've just forgotten about the win and just started to wonder what kind of kink is this?

Um..... That was a very different point of view. I mean, that's another way to see it.

But I didn't really, I mean... Wow, this is surprising

I cringed too bc the whole time he mould’ve just spoke to him about this whole thing instead of it being his wish that everyone had to hear. But I don’t think he felt insecure about his own strength and ability to protect himself so I don’t think he would’ve asked to be taken seriously as a worrier

Oop what a take. Understandable, but I lovedddd it.

It sheds light on Tei wanting to be taken seriously in a very *different* way.

Up until this point we've seen so much unease from him concerning the fact that Shu Shu won't sleep with him. Sex to Tei, among other things, is THE way to prove his utility to Shu Shu. Without it, he feels such a strong sense of uselessness and unease. He has such a strong sense of duty and morality and a clear inferiority complex ugh my heart

So Tei asking hubby to finally f*CK him WAS actually his way of asking to be taken seriously. As Shuraka's bride.

Which makes sense because what reason does he have to be uncertain about his own abilities? If anything, the fact that he won the tournament, and so quickly at that, proves to Shuraka how talented Tei is in his own right. Whereas past chapters have shown that he has DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEEEEP insecurity tied to his position as Shu Shu's wifey.

to me, Tei is insecure about his role. not strength, he seems to know he's badass, he seems very proud in his whole country being warrior people. But his role, or how he understood it, in the past, was that of a protector, for the kid I mean, and now he's not allowed to be that, instead he's being fussed about all the time by shu shu as if he's the one in need of a protector. all the more, there's a tournament happening where his husband is picking the guardian that is meant to protect Tei, all while seeing him as so precious he can't be touched. so idk, to me the whole pretend to be frost was to show he doesn't need to be treated as porcelain and shu shu can just lay his hands on him, but damn you could've said the explanation of why you participated IN PRIVATE.

tho they really could use some actual words between them not just longing stares, I don't actually think words could've reached shuraka
