To put it simply, (aka ignoring the interactions of relevant molecules) ice will begin to melt at anything above 0°C, and a glass of water is evidently warmer than that, since the water itself would be frozen otherwise. So while it may still be cold, it is still within the temperature range for melting ice.

why does ice melt in water if the water is cold, I'll probably understand it if it's hot, but the water is cold...and the ice melts.. the ice should freeze with the water right? so why??, idk either that's why I'm asking.
so what I'm saying is, WHAT IF the water is actually a traitor and sided with the hot side, cause you know, the water married the fire cartoon shit, and since the water can't betray his beloved, he js betrayed his best bro instead.. dawg this is..this is wild
the science shit that the teachers teaching y'all are probably a propaganda by the water and ice family, since they can kill humans in one hit the world leaders are afraid of them... is that why trump is obsess with oil?? what if that's the solution to everything..
