Should I Read Passion??

Bruno June 7, 2026 9:52 pm

So passion is incredibly popular. Like I have seen 3-4 videos about it every single day and I don't even interact with the passion fandom. And every yaoi creator I find (well not every, let's say most of them) say passion is peak fiction. I have heard about the sexual assault, abusive, and violent themes it includes in the story, but it is actually well written or is it just a stupid plot device? I've been very opposed about Passion but I don't feel like speaking about it because I haven't actually read it, so please tell me if it is worth it. I am not a fan of sexual abuse and assault happening towards main characters in a story and they end up together, so I will not be seeing Taeui and Illay as a romantic couple. Rather, I want to know if the actual plot itself is good and if the psychological aspect is well written. Ok pls tell me if Passion is good or not, or u don't have to, it's ur life ^_^

Yeah… it really ain’t all that TBH. The draw is the appearance of the top and the non typical bottom. Personally, before Passion got super popular it took me three tries to even get past the first chapter; it was so cliche.

It’s a tad bit overrated it’s overly glazed on tiktok but you may like it! I still haven’t continued it since my reading list got deleted so I’m like months behind but … it’s an okay read for me

It is both. Like many plot points are genuinely so good but you also have arcs and moments were it is so obvious to make the otaku reader hooked. I would actually give it a shot and if you want a lil spoiler, the uke will also rape the seme

Yeah it honestly did seem like a typical plot but since it's so popular I'm kinda getting FOMO and I wanna see what the hype is about

Holy crap someone needs to lock up this author well I am interested in the story and with the side couples (though I saw spoilers for Raga and now I am very let down) so I will be adding this to my to read list. Let's just hope the sex scenes don't have any important information revealed because I will be skipping over every single one of them

    1. if you wanna read it for the psychological aspect, I dont think it’s worth your interest. Plus, as you dont fond of Taeui and Illay ways of love (which involves abuse and assault), you’re not gonna enjoy the next sequel of Passion, Diaphonic Symphonia. You’ll meet Taeui and Illay again, and the second couple there is way worse. However, if you like the aesthetic, drama, I’ll think you can give it a try.
    2. I personally prefer Passion: Raga (it has its own manhwa series now) cuz I like the dynamics of the complex pretty younger seme x devoted pure calm older uke, and the phraseology, tone in this sequel is so my style, their way of love too. Among all sequels, Raga is my fav, I’d recommend this one.

Yh lowk the sex scenes are the scenes where the emotional connection starts and develops but reallll the author is so overglazed and the novel is sooo long it’s insane. Though the novel is 20 years old now
