It somehow reminded me of Beyond the Memories. While I liked the happy ending, I feel like the ML never got a proper redemption arc. The MC was the only one who truly remembered the past life and carried all the trauma.
I know the MC made mistakes, but the ML was much worse. He tortured and tormented the MC until he died, yet in the second life he only sees vague dreams of the past instead of fully remembering what he did.
In the end, I still felt bad for the MC. A second life doesn’t erase the trauma of the first one.
