I forgot about that detail but to be honest, we could have done without the existence of the gilfriend and all this cheating back and forth.
The story wouldn't have lost anything if the author hadn't decided to make ML a cheater. He could've just initiated a relationship with MC without the whole girlfriend bullshit, and this would've still had the bdsm element, the mild angst because MC seems to get attached first, and nothing would've been lost
