I thought that too. I remember the author having one of the characters comment about how they were such a perfect match. Then they made her how she first appeared at the beginning. It made me feel bad for Max.
Perhaps that’s how they build his character. The kid was abandoned by both parents and that’s how the author was able to establish his personality.
Why Rio divorced Clara...they were a good pair tho!!! And I thought she was a good girl who would take care of her son... it's kinda weird tho
