The problem isn't the explicit content. I don't usually read porn, but it's normal as long as it's consensual. The issue I have is the rampant trope of sexual assault and rape in bl/Yaoi and everyone treating it like its just another kink.
In most cases, it is just another kink. I love reading this type of stuff, but I’d never actually do it to anybody and I would never hope someone has it happen to them. It just gets my rocks off to read fictional stories about it happening

As a person that reads this and the novel, you are correct dont let them bully you. Media is part of cultural production and can influence behaviors and how we look at stuff. Even regimes and governments used media to get people desensitized to serious issues or opression groups (like black people and jews). Actually the reason there is so much rape in korea works is deeply tied to their culture around sexual crimes, purity culture and misogyny. You can notice 98% of the times the one being abused is the bottom.
Separating fiction from reality doesn't mean it's free from criticism. It's a pretty lame excuse for bad writing and it still subtly desensitizes readers by normalizing toxic and harmful behaviors.

exactly. so many people are disgusted, but i love reading manhwas or novels that depict unhappy characters or fucked up relationships. why would i want to only read about perfect, fluffy situations in fiction when i can explore situations like this instead?
If the comic made any meaningful exploration of toxic relationships, it would've made for a genuinely interesting plot. However, this is genuinely just rape and it's romanticized because "omg the male leads are so hot!!!" I think exploration of unhealthy relationships is great *if* the author knows what they're doing.
The author knows exactly what they’re doing. It’s just that what they’re doing isn’t for you, which is fine. But it doesn’t mean that the author and everyone who voyeuristically reads the story are “beyond saving”. I hope people get even less normal!
a porn manhwa will always add aspects to the story that make it enjoyable from that angle as well, but besides that, i do like where the story itself is going. i love stories in which the characters reach a point of no return and make me feel miserable for witnessing it. i get that it might not be for everyone though
The odd fantasy of seeing men get raped/SAd is what leads to the normalization of male sa in general. Being so comfortable with something like this shows how desensitized you truly are. If you enjoyed this you might be beyond saving. I'd love to hear why I'm wrong about my opinion by the weird people that glaze this dumpster fire of a story.
