The emperor Gregor was most interesting character. It was nice that none of the characters were good in typical sense (except Alice the sweetheart). Laurence could've been given better role in story, and Lysia became plain disappointing. But I won't pick every character now, despite being a lot.

I guess it's originally a novel, so it's better rounded there.
Anyways, the political side of the story is made quite detailed by author. The romance parts were, well not. They felt more unnecessary and awkwardly put for romance fans.

The plague portion dragged the story before end, while the King of Amel and Cadriol issue was skipped over. Theyevenkilledalphonse, butlaurencedyingbylysiabroughtsomejustice Also the Karam situation was inconclusive.

SPOILER ENDS

There were more loose ends to tie up, but that could've had dragged further, but be mended in background through side stories.

Overall, it was good and didn't hate it.
