Surprised anyone likes the brother. I hated his guts to the very end. The brother getting his own story about ending up with a dude really solidified how hypocritical and awful he was. He treated ML like shit because he was gay and looked down on MC for being associated with him, only to end up gay himself. He never even apologized to the ML. The most he said to ML was, “If people found out my brother is gay, it’d be a total disaster.” Idc if he secretly cared for the ML, he chose to act like an asshole in front of him, even when no one else was around to buy his act.
On another note mc annoyed me at the end. I believe he was the one in the wrong for that fight. Him getting drunk af after saying he’d come home sober. He even admitted it multiple times that he lied about promising to go home sober. He met ML’s brother and didnt tell him despite hearing that he wasn’t on good terms with his brother. And yet, MC flipped the whole situation and started getting mad at ML. For what?? Bottling up his emotions, not feeling comfortable enough sharing his thoughts, trying to not start a fight and letting it go? It irritated me that this started out with the mc being in the wrong and messing up, but mc then blaming ML and the ML having to chase him and apologize. Just felt like gaslighting.
Just imagine if this were some typical straight shoujo story: The bf tells the FL he’ll be home sober. Then when FL calls, a girl picks up and he’s unreachable after that. He appears home drunk as hell, then tries to make a move to have sex with the FL. They have a talk in the morning, FL lets it go and then ML gets mad at her for not saying how she’s feeling, storms out, stays the night out, doesn’t contact FL. So the FL is the first to go after him and apologize. It just sounds so stupid.
And it’s crazy that I saw a person defending the MC, saying “ml should have been considerate of mc’s feelings and communicated!!” Bffr.
