That’s not exactly what is actually going on in the story. He is relying on seme for rent and other household chores as he too chips in. But that’s also fine and also realistic. Plenty couples with 1 partner with bigger stable income have the other with either not as much, or are trying to pursue their career. It can be give n take which I’ve seen others even sacrifice a part of the coming years for 1 of them to start and succeed off first, and then the other takes their turn after.

It can be tiring seeing this kind of trope a lot as it caters to a particular set of audience that can relate. But personally I felt it was fine. If not your cup of tea, it not your personal cup of tea! And seme wasn’t so trash for me to drop it, I think it’s worth the read ^^!
