Honestly not that bad? The comments are so exaggerated. It's decently entertaining in a sort of dramatic type of way. It's fresh to have a deuteragonist (two equally participating protagonists), and there is a decent amount of underlying lore. Idk how far I'll keep reading but there's far worse out there.
