Would like feedback on story.

Hi, I've just started writing a new story called "The Devotion of Thorns". I was wondering if people could read it and give feedback on how to improve the writing. It is supposed to be a gothic story but it is my first time writing. The blurb is below:

"For fifteen years, Adelaide has tried to forget Blackthorn Abbey. She buried the memories, dismissed the nightmares, and convinced herself that the strange events of her youth were nothing more than grief and madness. But when a series of haunting dreams begins to draw her back to the abandoned abbey, she discovers that some promises cannot be broken—and some devotions never die."
