Yeah, unless they develop that part to show that the father homophobia is what twisted his personality to such extreme and he make a come back on the good guys side. That's the only way him being gay would be worth including in the story. As it stand it's just... Upsetting.
I think that pointing out yujun being gay its to reflect that even tho he likes men the only thing that matters to him is his rank, popularity and fame, because accepting to even try to SA Dajin to still being in Seongha good side its wild.
Also do not forget he is an idol and his dad is a military man, both things that in Korea what matters the most its how people perceive you, also its not far fetched that his dad is a homophobe again, he is a miltar.
And it is on purpose to be uncomfortable and disgusting. I mean the first chp was with Dajin dying for absolutely no reason
it was alright before finishing chapter 39. i, for the most part enjoyed her fighting back with the bullies yk classic school bully revenge story but what they did with yujun’s character just feels so unnecessary? what does making him gay add?? he wouldve still been kicked out of his group and talked about and exposed on the internet for what he did to dajin. it just feels like it was inserted to be subtly homophobic, his dad saying why cant you just be normal, i thought you were cured, and then putting him in the mental hospital just makes me uncomfortable and his retribution could have had nothing to do with him being gay.
