yeah my point exactly. personally, i don't think these scenes are being fetishistic (at least compared to something like kedamonotachi no jikan)
my point is that i wanted the people making the aforementioned comments to consider that the author might write the way they do for a reason. that sometimes the curtains are blue for a reason. and that it would do everyone a world of good to not immediately shoot the idea down over perceived moral high ground.
Honestly yeah i've grown to think like this about rape and sex as well. Some rape is unwareantdf but in other cases it's an effective narrative device to show power dynamics and also just show how it Affects characters if an author has the sensibility to do that
like yes i agree rape is a hard topic to digest and i do think it's a very reasonable response to be disgusted and uncomfortable by the depiction of it in this manhwa
but y'all are doing yourselves a disservice by completely writing off this arc as "the author's icky yucky fetish :((" and "i'm not even gonna read the backstory vro "
and this applies to other manhwas and other medias as well. but the amount of people whose kneejerk reaction to media where problematic = bad is worrying. that's how we get puritanism. that's how we get people still thinking lolita is a love story.
