Everything you said was 100% on point. I've already decided on dropping this story by the end of this arc (which is also the end of Book 1) because THAT ending is the only canonical ending in my book. If the author was going to fail this bad in making a likable ML or a compelling relationship, then honestly, this story shouldn't have been a romance. Instead, it should've centered on Maxi as a singular protagonist learning to heal from her trauma, and MAYBE eventually finding love along her journey, because the way the actual story turned out, this was just not it.
Drop this long ago. I just thought it's just too messy (￣∇￣") and I was right. I actually wanted to picked this back up, since I re-read like 3 times when there was like 50-60 chaps, bc I enjoyed it.
Then, after a bit I just got emotionally exhausted. Miscommunication leading to self-doubts and insecurities, it's just never-ending. One try to communicate the other dont want to :))), one try to get better the other feel insecure :))). Every time they have a fight, it's never really solve much, GOD ╥﹏╥. Then they have sex :))). BROOOOO
I didn't read all 157 chaps to have much of an opinion, but both were frustrating the hell out of me. I thought w a guy like riftan, he would say everything on his mind, BUT NO. With Maxi :))), haaaa, I feel she should just be alone, like go on alone, learn, study, experience,.... all that. Like GROWWWW. Im so tired hearing them fighting about whether or not she can do this or that. And she has to support herself to be more confident and helpful, while riftan just doesn't want to let her.
How bout forget the romance, and make it an action genre.
