That's actually what the story is about, you just won't get the message early on. The entire story is about the plight of omegas in a time of extreme discrimination and eventually to the beginning of the turning of the tides to a time that will be better for omegas in the future. This is the story of that moment in time, the turning point. In the end, we are left with the hope of a brighter tomorrow where omegas will not have to suffer the way this one and the second one have had to.
It's not excused by the characters in the story, they're just children in the beginning parroting what everyone has always said though. The two alphas in the beginning are actually the reasons that things begin to change.
read this with high hopes bc of the comments and in the first few chapters he was already raped. i’m gonna drop this and anyone who dismisses this is absolutely sick
