Grayson as usual can't feel emotions and very apathetic in many situations. In novel we see Grayson pov completely on how he behaves and why he behaves like that it goes deep I can't explain it completely because the Novel done it much better but see here just so u know he follows everything ashley tells him to do and doesn't understand how and what to do.
His self defence is taught by Ashley so that Grayson never raises hands on anyone first.
The fire scene in the previous chapter has a huge gap in that scene Grayson was planning to drag Dane back because the fire was super dire and they both could die, Grayson was telling Dane to turn back but Dane didn't and told Grayson to go back and Dane ran away and building starts to collapse so he done what any sane person would have done gone out and he was under strict orders to obey Dane and he does that obeys Dane command to come out.
U see the line he says why did he risk his life, it's because Dane risked his own life just for a dog and he doesn't how can someone feel this much affection for anyone and that too some animal that the other person doesn't know. That's what fascinates Grayson and think about Dane more.
But yeah these small things does it, there are scenes of Stacy and Grayson cut down showing how they care for eo even if its rough, they are both like we are both half of eo showing that stacy is the same as Grayson.
Grayson has a lot of inner monologue about stuff and this made us like him more and more.
In this scene he stays with the kid because he thinks the kid is being punished by the father, so he stays there so that the father won't get angry and punish the kid more and also so that the kid won't be lonely as Grayson always used to be alone when Ashley used to trap him in Basements and Grayson used to hum a music tone to cope the darkness and loneliness

Iam too lazy to read the novel but I don't want to miss Grayson pov Ó╭╮Ò so novel reader please can someone write a paragraph about Grayson pov what's always going on his mind
