As a novel reader, idk which is longer: the wait until the season 2 or his redemption arc
It wouldn't take several years hopefully
Um actually i finished the novel alr. Also Yes but its not a redemption imho tho, despite everything he still act like an asshole. He couldve be honest with mc insted covering lies with lies. But the onlu thing he did tell mc the truth is the cctv, he only said sorry and ily at the end of the main chapter fyi redemption alone means “ the act of buying back, saving, or freeing something from debt, evil, or a bad situation by paying a price or making up for a fault” but he did none of those things.. he’s suffering bc his own fault. Its not the redemption arc that is long but the climax of the story. The mc only got saved by his stepfather (forgot his name) the ml did absolutely nothing but destruction towards mc
It was not suffering. Mental suffering is when you get depression or at least lose some sleep. Or appetite. That guy didn’t suffer or lose anything. Unless of course your bar is so low and you are reading the novel just to get your kink out off MC suffering. Which I completely understand but let’s not try to invent the stuff which is not there.
Maybe we have different interpretations for redemption. Others would view it by taking the meaning straightforwardly, while others will take regret as redemption. This is why I mention the mental and emotional suffering. I also cursed the ml without fail until close to the end, but I think I would also categorize what happened to him as "paying a price" and his actions til the end counts as "making up for a fault". Since I also said from above that not all things are tangible and can be seen, sometimes the most destructive way of redemption also comes from inside or from the mind.
So I will stand with the other novel readers saying this is the longest redemption arc they've read.
I also liked the way the author developed such scum of a character into how he became until the end of the story.
There is no right or wrong with how we view redemption. I only wanted to say how it was seen from mine and the others.
Respectfully, you don't have the right to assume how I weigh my standard, and how I see the mc's suffering with just how I broaden my perception of seeing ways of redemption.
Regarding the mental suffering I've mentioned, do people need clinical diagnosis to prove someone's mental state? If that's what you needed, then we have no way to find out. But in my view, which you cannot label as right or wrong (like how I don't say you're wrong), I am just stating that people have different ways to redeem themselves. Just how you don't see it as such, me and the other readers saw it as redemption. As what I've said from above, regret by mental and emotional suffering is also a way to paying a price, aside from actions seen from outside. We don't have to fight which is right. It's just how people sees things differently.
I remember when Dane smashed the bottle in his head, thats when I started to dislike his personality. If he's the alpha here, he was cursed out already. He did it without hesitation so he'll do it even if it's another person. I expected them to show the action of actually hitting his head but the manhwa toned it down.
