The new chapter is soo good but I just want to talk about this one panel that was drawn. Like all I'm gonna talk about is that one panel. If you are planning on reading EIYD, or u are currently reading but not caught up, then I suggest not to read this cuz there might be spoilers. Ok, now I will continue. There is a moment where Minyoung and Jungcheol are lying in bed together and being cute, and Minyoung asks if the injury on Jungcheols face was from his father. Cheol is hesitant, and then Minyoung says to Cheol "I'm going to kill your family" with piercing purple eyes. Now his face is completely black, and his eyes aren't drawn as well. It's only the pupils looking right at the viewer. And it was honestly spine chilling and breathtaking. Cuz genuinely the uncanny valley effect is really doing its job here. I think they show the raw psychotic side Minyoung has to him when his face is not depicted. Minyoung looks normal on the outside, but when you take away the face that hides away his true self, it's a very sickening thing to see. His eyes were honestly the main window into his soul and I love how the artists draws them with a manic essence to them. And that also brings me to another topic on how eyes are a big factor into showing someone's emotions and behavior patterns for art. Because all the emotion really comes from the eyes. One example could be the portrait of Ivan the Terrible (idk if this is the right name) holding the dead body of his son, who he himself killed. The raw and unfiltered realization and terror portrayed through his eyes really showed the horror and grief going on in the painting. Of course there are other main components in portraying expressions, like body language, facial curving, eyebrows, and more. But when humans talk to another, they look at through the persons eyes, so when they see a portrait, they would naturally look at the subjects eyes and get the gist of emotion through that. Eyes are the main focal point to most pictures. (I could be wrong tho, so pls correct me if I am). Back to the artist, they are honestly such a genius with coloring (ok idk who does the coloring but the person coloring is a genius) because the way they did this scene was top notch. The idea of that panel is honestly top notch. I honestly didn't think I would rant so hard about it but I am a nerd. Well if u have anything nice to say pls say it in the replies, or not, it's ur life.
