Not liking the series is one thing, but saying there’s “nothing but rape” after reading all the volumes is crazy .At that point it sounds less like a criticism and more like you ignored everything that wasn’t Ilay and Taeui.The relationship is controversial, sure. I never denied the rape happened, nor am I trying to excuse it. I just think it’s a huge oversimplification to reduce Passion to “rapeslop” and ignore everything else the series is doing. Whether you like it or not, there’s still character writing, worldbuilding, political conflict, themes, symbolism, and complex character dynamics that people discuss for a reason.There are plenty of controversial works that deal with subjects like rape, abuse, pedophilia, murder, etc. People are still able to analyze and discuss them beyond those elements. Acknowledging that a story contains something horrific doesn’t mean that’s the only thing worth talking about.If the rape ruined the story for you, that’s completely fair. Yeah to say it's just rape rape rape when for most of the story they didn't have sex is definitely an oversimplification. They didn't have any intercourse until chapter 40 something and that was consensual. The rape happened later and after that rape Taeui didn't really get involved with Ilay and then ran away so they weren't even around each other and now they aren't even in the same place again. There's a ton of stuff going on that isn't related to Ilay and Taeui's storyline like the UHDRO, Jaeui, uncle Chang-In, Xinlu, the prince, political stuff and military stuff, gilseong? stuff etc. There's 136 chapters and I think only about 15 or so of those chapters are sexual. Although I'm sure after what just happened in the recent chapter there will be more but I don't think PASSION is just pure rapeslop at all.

The story has good dynamics and conflicts that explain why they're together dumbing it down to one thing is just shallow and ignoring the work the author put in to make such a good story. it's your opinion if you think it isn't good but misleading readers because you apparently didn't like or get the story isn't the best thing to do.
