As an African-Australian girl who still feels the effects of the Slave trade in my home country, the concept of the main character giving the enslaved people a bunch of cash and saying bye was like spitting on my face. Even when African people were freed, they experienced lynching for things they never did, unable to find work, so they went back to the plantations they were enslaved on, so they could live. No way to go back home, and their lives were basically still controlled by white colonists, which is so sad. The fact that some of you stupid bitches are saying it's just fiction is basically saying what happened to my people was a long time ago and doesn't matter. You have no place here in our community of yaoi readers, bitches.
