It was a genuine question I really didn’t mean no harm. It does seem more that he is dark skinned from the sun (sorry English is not my first language). But isn’t it harsh to go that far that it was being cancelled? The work didn’t even start we didn’t even know the background (only bio). I just want to say there are even worse manhwas being racist / slave core and no one has shut them down or felt offended.
I’m not a boy btw and it was just a question. And how he said it ‘I’m your Slave’ it doesn’t have to mean that it’s racist. There are some dark coloured mcs who have this core. There are plenty here on mangago. I was just a genuine question because I REALLY didn’t know, if I would I wouldn’t have asked like ?. You don’t have to be mean. We can have a normal conversation. Is it so difficult for ppl not to shame other just bc of a question. Must be hard for you to answer me like a human being
Jaxx is a major creator. We expect them to act sensible. And nw f yu want. Full rundown if why ti's ass here:
Problem with this story:
1. The genocide of African Americans in the U.S. is so brutal that it’s completely morally impossible to make a love story about an ex slave owner and an ex slave.
I’m talking about European Americans using African Americans as crocodile bait, using their skin as leather, eating them, making the two strongest male slaves fight to the death out of pure entertainment, FORCING male African slaves rape their mother (origin of the word motherfucker), whipping African Americans so hard their backs were lacerated, brand them like animals, enforce iron collars on them to prevent them from resting and other various torture methods (let’s not even get into the whole process of the displacement of native Africans from their homelands to the United States). How can you even think to create between such a violent oppressor and the oppressed???
2. The “white savior” act in the first chapter is already extremely inaccurate, showing the pure ignorance the author has on the subject.
After the slavery abolition act of 1833 was passed, there were still slaves working for free for their “owners”, and if not, for extremely little pay. Why? Because they had been enslaved for sooo long jt was impossible for them to function outside in the real world. They had no money, and if they did, it’s not like they would be able to do much with it. They didn’t own any land, didnt own any farming implements and didn’t know how to farm, didn’t receive any education so they didn’t know how to read or write. After being heavily groomed and manipulated into thinking that your sole purpose consists of only physical labor and nothing else, then it’s basically impossible to break out of this mentality.
3. The “fiction doesn’t affect reality”… little broader than that.
Still thinking that fiction doesn’t affect reality is an extremely naive and ignorant mentality. Let’s take the example of “the birth of a nation”. It is an extremely racist film made by D.W. portraying African Americans as “violent, savage rapists” who prey on the white race, specifically white women. It therefore introduces the idea of the KKK, and portrays them as the heroes, being noble vigilantes who will restore white supremacy. And as we all know (I hope), the KKK were an extremely prominently terrorist group during the Jim Crow era, where the group still exists today. Although this is an extreme example, this is just to show the immense impact it had on society, even while still being fiction. Now, imagine the, like yall like to portray, the oh so ignorant South Koreans who don’t know much about American history see what’s being portrayed in the manhwa? It would water down the intense and brutal history of the 300 years of African American genocide, and think it’s on the same level as a normal bully x bullied romance. So, this argument just does not work at all.
Well, if u read the manhwa correctly, thrz American flag and it's indicating to the 1861 American civil war. And it's no small issue dear. The Civil War was fought over the moral issue of slavery. The white skinned literally oppressed their slaves aka the black skinned ones. And u wouldn't want to know the extent of racism and the brutality
So while author took a real time history but utterly failed to study the intensity of the issue. The genocide of African American was soo brutal that it's nearly impossible to imagine a love story beyween ex slave owner and ex slave. Then let's talk about the oppression. Like nobles/slave owners used to use the slaves as bait for hunting, using their skin after death as leather, making two strong slaves fight to death for pure entertainment, and even publicly r**ing female slaves and enjoying and taking turns to r*** that girl. Thrz more, like many more. Let's not talk abt the origin and displacement. That's another big history.
Now u can say Fiction is fiction, not reality. But no, this issue is serious. Making a story out of it feels belittling those moments and struggle against racism and to emancipation.
But u are right like the story had great potential but world building is trash. If author didn't use that timeline as the plot of the story, none would've complained. Like author could use an imaginary historical world rather than real life history. But using that particular history was short sighted and ignorance imo.
BRUH she just explained it to me and I was NOT the only one to not understand why. Tf is wrong with you. It was a good read for FICTION because most Manga and manwha are fiction and the art was good and I didn’t know it was based of of REAL life i I thought it was a history for the manhwa that they made up and not based about the slavery in OUR history. Can’t you read my question right? I asked why and did not claim it never happened. WTH about being so rude. There are some ppl that don’t know like me. Maybe the heat is getting you angry so don’t let it out on ppl that don’t mean anything bad with a question. And of course I had this topic but it was 15 years ago and like I said I thought it was a made up story from the author

Can someone pls Tell me why it got canceled?? There are worse First chapters and if its about that he Said he is his ‚Slave‘ maybe he is there so the ranch can keep going? There are WORSE. It was the First chapter and the Read was good.
