Using slavery as the backdrop of a smut story about a white dudes pain and trying to make us sympathize with his family WHO OWNED SLAVES while not focusing on the struggle of black people who had to be said slave is weird af not to mention it's very obviously just going to be another pale sub bottom x savage brown top that east Asians seem to love so much
So I know slavery was bad, and genocide is bad, and murder is bad, and rape is bad, but this one chapter didn't defend anything. Maybe people are mad that the artist just mentioned black people but not their suffering, like it didn't care and delve into the depth of why slavery was a terrible crime committed by white people. So the problem is not the mention, but why it didn't focus on this historic crime against humanity which caused years of generational trauma. Or maybe you're mad at the main character for being who he is, especially a white person from a family such as his. But again, it's not defending or promoting anything. That's why I don't get all these comments. Where I come from people get killed and the world does nothing, so even if they made a charater using my birthplace as background but not mentioning the suffering I too would get offended but not as far as calling the author off, maybe just ignorant. It's a fictional yaoi, so I wouldn't care.
It's goid you're this sensitive to these issues, but maybe it's not the right place. Let's be sensitive about real issues in the real world. And about the last panel, I too agree it was cheap writing. But since I know this author, I'm gonna give them a chance and read few more chapters to judge them.
I think the racist part is where the slave said “I’m just your humble slave, master” as if he’s proud of being a slave instead of suffer, bcs we all know how inhumanely the slaves were treated back then and how we should take their suffer seriously instead of romanticizing it. correct me if I’m wrong
Okay so you're not a person to speak politely, and calling out authors from Korea (all of them) to be racist, is a racist move. Let's be polite to other races, I can see you respect black race but not other races. That's not how it goes, if you have a problem with the author, mention their name, not their race, simple right?

Umm I genuinely don't understand and am very confused, what was racist in this one chapter?
The civil war and slavery were historical facts so as far as I know writing about those times is not forbidden and the writer didn't make up false stories (plus unlike Japanese art sytle the black people weren't drawn in a racist style). And the guy freed the people who were wrongfully enslaved and tried to compensate his families crime by giving them some money (I bet that was the best he could do while also dealing with his debts)
And the other dude is not black, he's tanned. Though if it turns out he's indigenous that would make me happier cause I love American indigenous people.
So is it going to get racist in the future chapters?
