op is clearly trying to grasp what is actually making people uncomfortable and engage in the critiques of the art. You are making your side look absolutely idiotic and insufferable – it's a major disservice to those who actually have valid takes that you vouch for. You are incapable of engaging with others in good faith. You should be embarrassed honestly.
I don't think you understand how crazy you guys look so sane people who are js trying to have a proper discussion. You're ruining this space entirely, it's almost impossible to find genuine discussion because of people like you. Pls stop commenting now, I'll stop too bc I can't seem to find a way to get you guys to stop burying the valid critiques.
So rude as always! What you are saying is this, if he was a black savior that'd be okay, right? Why does it matter what was tge color of his skin? Lincoln was not a savior for sure if you read his diary. So who should be a savior? Are the German people who helped Jews to escape not worth mentioning, cause they were German and some even worked for the Nazi? Are all white people during civil war who freed their slaves not worth mentioning? The manhwa may depict the mc as a hero, but does he think he's a hero? A hero of what really? A war he didn't want to partake? Or wait, do we even know the mc? Do we know if he was against slavery and joined the war on his own? Oh wait it doesn't matter, cause he is white.
Be brave and say it, say "I hate all the whitle people who helped end slavery, they were hypocrites and no one should talk about them or depict them in fictional stories." And with that you also tell other white people to not be on black people's side, cause what they do at the end is call white people hypocrites.
And soma don't share the credit, you are the landlord of this comment section, and I asked cause I really don't see what you say. It's like we're reading two different manhwa. Get some sleep. Gonna head to work. See you later.

1. The mc is from the midwestern state, from Illinois, and fought for The Union for his family's legacy (probably not because they were against slavery but because they wanted to be winners). And mc finds his family legacy not something to be proud of.
2. The workers on the ranch are not slaves, the dirty racist southern agent assumed they were, but mc made it clear that they are not.
3. Even tho he lost his family and is under a lot of debts, he sold his state to pay the workers so that they can settle somewhere else without a problem.
4. The ml, the guy who said "my ranch" and called himself "your slave" (in a sarcastic way) is half Native American. And since he's half Native, what he said is on him, there is a chance that he wants to get revenge.
5. Absolutely no black person was depicted as evil or blamed or accused like some old Hollywood movies (there was also no false portrayal by the art style). I also saw that they were respected as equal and got paid for their work by the mc. The story is set after the civil war, so by law no one should be a slave to another.
Let's not forget depicting history is not racistic, so here's a question for people who say this story is full of racistic elements, please explain in details without using curse words to offend others why this manhwa is racist, explain like I'm five.
