In every other palace drama story, murim or otherwise, both ML and FL hem and haw, pushed around by reputation and face and manners and all sorts of social spider webs and become paralyzed, socially outmaneuvered and out positioned, usually with a "loyal" maid or servant to brainwash the MC into being just as submissive and afraid as they are.
