I don’t understand why you people are so okay with romanticizing a painful and disgusting past when it comes to black and brown people. Let this story have been about a Japanese soldier in WW2 with a Korean man, or a Nazi German and a Jew in the Holocaust, and all hell would break loose. Its in my place to question if i want to understand the issues and the logic. That is how people learn. If you are going to judge anybody for trying to educate themselves about issues involved and the logic for cancelation then you can FUCK OFF.

I still dont understand the issue here because dramas (films/tv series) have been made featuring romantic relationships in settings of slavery as well as holocaust. I didnt see any romanticising of slavery in ch1.

There are people who are supporting and cheering on the genocide of Palestinians and where children are being targeted, their is a genocide going on in Sudan and Congo. So much suffering but this is what gets your attention.

Well, i disagree, i see a lot of outrage about other media, and in a lot of discourse, the problem is outrage gets overridden by the bigger crowd of people who don’t see the problem (like I’ve seen more people who r protecting this work than critique it, especially after author chose of discontinuation) and its freaking sad
I think this one feels bigger because it is in such genre that didn’t had a similar situation happening(even though there were some racist works before it didn’t come to this, I think bcs jaxx is like a big and loved author)

I am not supporting this manhwa and respect authors decision but I cant really understand the controversial issue because i have seen so many dramas/movies with similar tropes. I was sincerely trying to understand. I kind of get it however and my consideration would be how the people who are affected feel. But im also sensitive of a lot of white people feeling outrage on behalf of black people - the performative activism.

I wish we would have as much outrage at unjust things actually happening in society - at our politicians, putting our efforts at making a noise at issues that lead to actual differences and address injustice currently happening.

I’ve seen a lot of black americans and native americans(here and on social media) who were really hurt by this depiction and use of their history and ancestry
and I think there is a point to talk about it and do make authors understand that this not gonna be overlooked, and people just can’t make money on other people suffering
Im just trying to do both, talk about issues that prevail in real life, and don’t let things for fun and leisure to reach a point where it makes someone don’t feel safe
